Accidents, flooding and slips have closed wet roads around the country this morning, according to the Automobile Association.
In Auckland, a multi-vehicle accident has blocked Pakuranga Motorway at Ti Rakau Dr in both directions; two accidents on Wairau Rd, on intersections with Target Rd and Traistram Rd, is causing delays; and surface flooding on Mt Eden Rd and Symonds Rd has authorities urging caution.
In Wellington, an accident on SH 58 between Banks Dr and Spinnaker Dr is causing delays.
In Christchurch, a serious crash has closed Springs Rd between Halswell Junction Rd and Birchs Rd, with diversions in place. Police said they were looking for a motor vehicle that drove away from the crash, which was between the motor vehicle and a motorcycle.
On SH 3 between New Plymouth and Te Kuiti, contractors are clearing a slip 1km north of the Awakino Tavern.
Due to flooding, SH 1 north of Oamaru and SH 82 and 83 out of Kurow remains closed, the New Zealand Transport Agency says.
Caution is urged on SH 6 between Fox Glacier and Haast due to high winds.
