Accident closes one lane onto motorway

One lane of the southern link onto Auckland's Southern Motorway from the port has been closed after a truck struck an overhead gantry at 3pm today.

Police said traffic trying to get onto the Southern Motorway via Grafton Gully would be affected by the closure.

Engineers have been called in to assess the damage.
