Owners of the Tesla Model S electric car may be surprised to find their cars feel slightly faster, thanks to a remote software update. In fact, the large five-seat car now accelerates as fast as McLaren's MP4-12C supercar.
Tesla can issue new code which cars automatically download and install without any action required by the owner. These periodic updates usually come with a wide range of alterations that improve performance or efficiency and also tweak the in-car computer and smart features.
Tesla's Model S P85D could already accelerate from 0 to 96km/h in just 3.2 seconds but the new software update will trim that by 0.1 seconds to 3.1.
