KEY POINTS:
Motorists who work for a wage are about to face a doubly whammy from ACC levies, which are to increase for workers and motorists. But employers will get a cut in the levies they pay.
ACC Minister Maryan Street said the employer levy would drop from $1.32 to $1.26 per $100 of earnings. The earner levy would increase from $1.16 to $1.24 per $100 of earnings.
The motor vehicle levy would go from $204.78 to $254.63, split split 50/50 between the petrol levy and registration fees. For diesel vehicles, the licence fee will increase according to the vehicle's classification.
