KEY POINTS:
A man who abducted and sexually assaulted a teenage girl in West Auckland may have been seen driving near Titirangi since the attack.
Police said the attack was premeditated and there were fears the offender could strike again.
The 13-year-old girl was lured into the man's small- to medium-sized silver car on West Coast Rd in Glen Eden about 2pm on Saturday.
Over the next 45 minutes she was sexually and physically abused and driven through Glen Eden, Titirangi and Woodlands Park.
Henderson police have been told a man and vehicle matching the descriptions given in the case were seen on Huia Rd near Titirangi on Wednesday. The man's behaviour had made the caller suspicious and she contacted police after publicity on the abduction case, Ms Goldie said.
"He's been seen going up drives and has knocked on one woman's door and then driven off."
The girl got into the man's car on West Coast Rd and got out at the corner of Woodvale Rd and Ambler Ave.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the silver car or a large Polynesian man aged in his 30s to 40s with a girl in those areas on Saturday.
She has distinctive long straight hair and wore blue jeans and a jacket.
The man's key ring had a large number of keys and a driver's licence enclosed in a plastic case attached to it.
Anyone with information should call Waitakere police on (09) 839-0600.
