KEY POINTS:
The Automobile Association roadside technicians' strike is over - for the time being at least.
After talks with management this morning, the technicians' union, the Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union (EPMU), decided to suspend strike action and return to work immediately.
It was agreed that talks would resume in the later part of January next year.
"The decision to return to work is certainly in the best interests of both our staff and our members," AA spokesman Simon Lambourne commented.
The workers downed tools on Monday in the second strike action in the organisation's 105-year history because they wanted to keep the extra week of annual leave all AA roadside technicians currently get after six years of service and pay parity across the country.
