The AA says retail fuel prices remained virtually unchanged during July, despite the introduction of the Emissions Trading Scheme.
Petrol and diesel prices did rise by three cents per litre on the first of July, but AA PetrolWatch spokesman Mark Stockdale says they dropped by three and two cents per litre respectively a few days later, on the back of falling commodity prices.
"The effect has been eroded by a drop in the price of fuel globally, so really it's had no impact."
