The UCOL Wairarapa campus in Masterton was thrown open to visitors on Wednesday.
A free lunch was offered to prospective students and demonstrations were held on baking and pastry and joinery.
Carpentry students had started building a three-bedroom home complete with ensuite at the campus, which featured as part of the open day and housed the joinery demonstration.
Campus manager Angela Hewitt said the open day was primarily to showcase the second semester programmes, which include NZ Diploma in Business L6, National Certificate in Business Administration L4, Certificate in Baking and Pastry L3, National Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care L3, Certificate in Introduction to Health Science L2, National Certificate in Joinery (Introduction) L2 and Certificate for Advanced Computer Users L4.
Also on offer was a free course in basic computing that was reintroduced for the second semester, Ms Hewitt said.
