KEY POINTS:
If there was any question whether the feet of Mt Eden Normal pupils are made for walking, it's been answered.
About 300 of the school's Year 3, 4 and 5 students yesterday got certificates from Olympic gold medallist Hamish Carter for their efforts in the My Greatest Feat campaign.
The youngsters were among many around the country who recorded their daily number of steps on pedometers and logged the results online.
Mt Eden Normal associate principal Maria Martene said the students took the healthy living drive seriously.
"You would see them running around the field at lunchtime. Lots of them would take their book up to the teacher to show and be jogging on the spot."
