Born for Christmas, this fur pup seal arrived unexpectedly at Napier Marineland and went unnoticed until it barked for attention to announce its arrival.
Staff found the pup - "a bundle of fluff" - in its pen with exhausted but proud mother Primrose, a 13-year-old marineland veteran who last gave birth two years ago.
The pup, a female, has been amusing visitors by rushing about chasing bugs.
