98.4pc enrolled nation's highest

Wairarapa is the highest enrolled electorate in the country for this month's general election, according to Registrar of Electors Philip Parkes.

"We've got 98.4 per cent of our electorate enrolled, the highest in the country and well ahead of the national average of 90.5 per cent , which is great," Mr Parkes said.

Over 46,000 Wairarapa voters will receive EasyVote packs through the mail by the end of this weekend.

" So all we have to do now is get people out to vote on September 20, Mr Parkes said.

He said voters should know they can vote in advance or on election day.

"For information about when and where you can vote and a list of the parties and candidates you can vote for, check your EasyVote pack, go to elections.org.nz or call 0800 36 76 56," Mr Parkes said.
