$9.1m Lotto ticket sold in Northcote still unclaimed

A $9.1 million winning Lotto ticket which was sold in Northcote remains unclaimed this morning.

The lucky punter who purchased the ticket is over $9 million richer, after taking away Powerball First Division in Saturday night's draw.

The winning ticket was sold at Mitchell's Paper Power in Northcote, and was the seventh major Powerball prize won so far in 2015.

It was not unusual for it to take a couple of days for winners to come forward, a spokeswoman said.

"It's only Monday morning, it hasn't been that long since it was won. It is not unusual to take a couple of days, but we are hoping to find them soon."

She said the winner was encouraged to come into Lotto NZ's Auckland office to claim their prize.

"We encourage people for privacy to come in and claim in person."

Five other lucky punters also won $166,667 with Lotto First Division on Saturday night.

The winning Lotto tickets were sold at Loveridges Lotto and Video in Hawera, Newtowne Drycleaners in Dunedin, Clutterbucks Four Square in Mataura, Fresh Choice in Waimauku, and Pak'n Save Lincoln Road in Auckland.
