91-year-old driver has a couple too many

A Hokitika nonagenarian blighted his unblemished 75-year driving record when convicted of drink-driving in Greymouth District Court yesterday.

Judge Eric Ryan said it was a great shame Roderick Andrew Waltho had blotted his record by choosing to drive home from a local hotel after imbibing a couple too many.

Waltho was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for six months.
