A 9-year-old autistic boy went missing around 4.30pm this afternoon from a playground. He was visiting the playground in Victoria Park (off Dyers Park Road) with his family.
The boy is described as:
* Male Caucasian
* Medium build
* Brown shortish hair
* Red t-shirt
* Khaki/light brown shorts
* Black sandals
The boy may answer to his name - Seamus.
Police would like to hear from anyone, particularly track walkers, who may have seen the missing boy in or around Victoria Park since 4.30pm. Ring Christchurch Police 03 363 7400.
Whooping cough is particularly dangerous for newborn babies and older adults.
