         A $7 million movie sound stage opened today in the Auckland suburb of Henderson.
 
The studio boasts 2000-square-metres of floorspace and a 15-metre-high ceiling - big enough to create a set the size of a two-storey house.
 
About 200 people, including Prime Minister Helen Clark and Waitakere Mayor
         
 
Bob Harvey attended the formal opening, though production of a Korean-American film called Laundry Warrior, was already underway.
 
The film, rumoured to have a $US30 million ($NZ43.54 million) budget, starred Zhang Ziyi and Jang Don Gun.
 
The studio, dubbed "Westywood", was owned by Waitakere City and the Tony Tay Group, who developed the studio.
