Tauranga hosted the first of several marches planned for provincial centres to protest against the Electoral Finance Act.
The organiser of the march, vocal EFA opponent John Boscawen, said more than 600 people attended the march which was peaceful.
Mr Boscawen, who has organised previous marches in Auckland and Wellington, said future marches will be held in other provincial centres.
