The family of a 5-year-old girl who almost drowned at Mission Bay are trying to find the man who resuscitated and saved their daughter from almost certain death.
Caroliah Vaigafa was playing in the sea at the western end of Mission Bay beach with her cousins, aged 5 and 7, on December 23 when she was knocked over by waves.
While the cousins ran to get help, a man ran into the water to rescue her.
The man pulled Caroliah onto the beach but she had already stopped breathing.
Police believe the man or another passerby then started CPR on Caroliah and was able to resuscitate her.
