5.4 quake shakes East Coast

The East Coast was shaken by a 5.4 magnitude earthquake this morning.

The quake, which struck at 7.43am, was located 70km north of White Island at a depth of 240km.

GNS Science said that it would have been felt north of Hawke's Bay.
