A nagnitude 5.2 earthquake has shaken the lower North Island tonight.
The earthquake was located 30km south of Dannevirke, at a depth of 30km. It struck at 6.57pm, according to GeoNet seismologists.
The quake would have been felt around the lower North Island.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. ]
The earthquake was followed at 7.19pm by a magnitude 4.6 earthquake, located out to sea 245km off the East Coast east of Te Araroa.
