A $5000 reward has been put up to try to catch a hoaxer who claimed a bomb had been planted at a Te Puke meatworks.
About 300 meat workers were evacuated from Affco's Rangiuru plant in the western Bay of Plenty just before 7pm on Tuesday after police received a call saying two bombs were set to go off at midnight, The Bay of Plenty Times reported.
Police combed the building, but found nothing.
Affco director of operations Rowan Ogg said a reward of $5000 has been offered to anyone who provided information leading to an arrest.
