5.0 magnitude quake hits Taranaki

A quake measuring 5 on the Richter Scale has struck in Taranaki.

GNS Science said the quake hit at 12.26pm and was centred 30km south of Ohura, which is 50km northwest of Taumarunui, at a depth of 230km.

It was felt throughout the North Island.
