4.6 quake shakes Waikato region

The Waikato was shaken by a magnitude 4.6 earthquake early today.

The 12.40am quake struck 10 kilometres south of Tokoroa, at a depth of 160km, GNS Science reported.

It was possibly felt in the central and eastern North Island.
