4.6 quake in Hawkes Bay

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake hit near Wairoa in the Hawkes Bay this morning, GNS Science reported.

The 4.47am quake struck 10km north-west of the town, at a depth of 40km.

GNS Science said the tremor was likely to have been felt in the Wairoa and Gisborne regions.
