MetService spokesman Bob McDavitt has had an almost $4500 makeover courtesy of the taxpayer.
McDavitt, who averages a media interview a week for the profitable state-owned enterprise, told the Sunday Star-Times he was enjoying looking sharp.
"If you don't, people can't take you seriously, and when you are delivering important information about the weather, you need people to believe you."
The newspaper reported that the credit card expenses of MetService chief executive Paul Reid for the past two years showed $4426 at Wellington's Working Style - reconciled as: "Clothing for our key media frontperson. Made, as in odd sizing - suit, sports jacket, casual pants, shoes, ties and several shirts."
