4.4-magnitude quake strikes in Bay of Plenty

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake has struck in the Bay of Plenty, GNS Science reports.

The earthquake struck at 11.45am and was centred 20km south-west of Te Kaha, 30km north-east of Opotiki, at a depth of 50km.

GNS Science said the quake was felt in Opotiki.
