A 4.4 magnitude earthquake has been felt near Queenstown, GNS Science reports.
The quake struck at 9.14am, and was centred 40km north of Glenorchy and 50km northwest of Wanaka, at a depth of 5km.
GNS Science received reports the tremor was felt in Queenstown.
