Hundreds of people have been shaken by a magnitude 4.3 quake which hit central New Zealand tonight.
The 11km-deep quake struck 35km northeast of Seddon, Marlborough, at 7.21pm.
GeoNet described the quake as moderate, then upgraded it to strong.
Almost 400 people, mostly in the Marlborough and Wellington regions, have reported feeling the quake on the GeoNet website.
