4.3 earthquake in Gisborne

An earthquake of 4.3 magnitude on the Richter Scale was recorded in Gisborne this morning, GNS Science reported.

The tremor, at 10.35am, was centred 10km north of Tolaga Bay at a depth of 50km.

GNS Science said the earthquake would have been felt in the Gisborne region.

There were no immediate reports of injury or damage.
