A 4-year-old Auckland girl killed in a crash in Canterbury has been remembered as a "cherished cheeky little monkey" who will be missed forever.
Cloey Mikayla Faber-Thomas was holidaying with her family when their car apparently crossed the centre line and smashed into another vehicle near St Andrews in South Canterbury shortly after 2.45pm on Friday.
Despite being properly restrained in a car seat, Cloey was killed in the crash.
In an online memorial notice, she was described as the "forever and always loved and adored" daughter of her parents Annaliese and Malcolm, who have been in Christchurch Hospital since the crash.
Her brother Olie also survived the crash.
"Cloey's brother and partner in crime Olie will love her and miss her forever," the tribute said.
