A 3.8 earthquake has been felt in Christchurch this evening.
The earthquake occurred 10 kilometres east of Christchurch at a depth of 25 kilometres at 6.45 today.
Geonet seismologist John Ristau said 555 people reported feeling the earthquake, mainly from Christchurch and Canterbury plains.
