KEY POINTS:
About 300,000 households in Auckland, Manukau and Papakura are on track for a dividend of more than $300 from lines company Vector after an improved half-year profit.
The payment through the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust, which owns 75 per cent of the company, is calculated in August after full-year results are known.
The company is optimistic the 12-month result will be in the region of last year's $164 million, which resulted in a $320 payment to households.
