A family syndicate of three siblings have claimed the $2 million winning Lotto ticket from Saturday night's draw.
The two brothers and their sister forgot to buy their tickets last week, so sent a text to their mum who was visiting a friend at Auckland City Hospital to ask her to buy one at the Book and Post shop there.
"We like to buy our tickets at different places, and knew mum was there, and she knows our numbers because they're all our birthdays, so we asked her to get it," said one of the siblings.
The trio are all planning on buying a house, a car and paying off debts. But they're going to spoil their mum, who's getting a new fridge, a car and a bag, "not one from the flea market."
