2degrees' mobile network rollout hasn't gone as smoothly as the company might like.
Several emails were received by nzherald.co.nz this morning complaining of privacy problems with the new telco's website.
"The newly launched 2Degrees seem to be having a few problems," one reader wrote.
"Their online shops appears to be very insecure. I just tried to buy a $20 sim pack. Once it came to checking out the page I got served had someone's full personal details on it. That includes name and full address."
Another customer had the same problem: "When I signed up I saw the details of another customer," he wrote.
"Initially I thought it was an example but on reflection it was another customer's details. The rates and products they have are great but this is a very serious privacy breach."
The company has admitted to having a bug in the Your 2degrees and Online Store sections of its website and has now temporarily pulled the plug on those pages.
"Above all else 2degrees values the privacy of our customers and so until resolved the Your 2degrees and the Online Store sections of our website will be unavailable until further notice," 2degrees said in a statement.
It said that less than 100 people were effected by the bug, claiming that "high traffic" of 100,000 unique visitors to the site over a few hours yesterday caused the problem.
It assures customers that no other services have been affected.
