KEY POINTS:
The North Shore City Council has paid developer Landco $2.99 million for new parkland at Albany.
Parks chairman Margaret Miles said 1ha of parkland would result from the council's purchase of four sections, totalling 7000sq m, next to land given by the developer as part of council subdivision rules.
The land is in the developer's Tall Oaks subdivision, which extends from its Oakvale development near Albany Junior High School, North Shore Golf Course and Schnapper Rock Rd.
Mrs Miles said the council had a $9 million annual budget for new parkland and now owned 1200ha across the city.
