A new $26 million integrated family health centre will be built on one site in Westport.
The West Coast District Health Board said this afternoon the complex would be built on a single site, rather than split over two, and that aged care would be combined under a single provider.
Detailed plans and costings will now be drawn up. A final decision about the location will be made at the March board meeting once board members have visited Westport and inspected the two proposed site options - the Buller Health and O'Conor Trust sites.
The vote was taken at the board meeting on Friday after the public had been excluded.
