A sou'wester has brought heavy rain to Canterbury and even snow in the mountains.
Around 23 millimetres of rain has fallen in Christchurch City this morning. It is causing some surface flooding and forced play to be suspended until 11.30am on day two of the NZPGA Championship at Clearwater.
Snow has fallen above the bushline in the Craigeburn Range. The temperature in the city is hovering around 12 degrees Celsius.
Rain has also fallen in Kaikoura and Blenhiem this morning.
