A 20-second film shot on a mobile phone has won Auckland actor Jason Taylor a trip for two to Hollywood.
Taylor entered his film Sink Man in the Rubbish Film Festival, winning both the top prize and the Best Screenplay award.
More than 900 people entered the festival with their 20-second mobile phone movies
On the judging panel were television personality Jaquie Brown, creative director Mike O'Sullivan and actor Robbie Magasiva.
"It was a great competition," Brown said. "Instead of playing snake when you are bored you can put your ideas to good use.
"This has been a great way to vent low-fi directing, acting, and editing aspirations.
"There have been some really great results. There were some fizzers too but you know, bless them for trying."
Taylor's trip to Hollywood is valued at $12,000 and he and four other category winners also won a 76cm widescreen TV and a DVD Home Theatre system worth $1500.
