$1m win for South Auckland Lotto player

Ketan Patel rushed into his own Lotto outlet this morning to check his ticket, following the news of a $1 million win at the store.

However his hopes were dashed and the First Division winner from Drury Lane's Lotto Superette remains a mystery.

"Nobody's been in. No one's come forward," Mr Patel said.

The First Division win is one of a number of wins for the store.

"The last Winning Wheel was sold here just five weeks ago. Our last second division winner was four weeks ago.

"Since Father's Day last year we've had a winner in each primary draw, so South Auckland has done well," Mr Patel said.

"We've sold 13 winning first division tickets over 20 years and 62 second division winners. That's not too bad."

Mr Patel said he had "no feeling whatsoever" who the latest winner may be and previous winners had remained discreet about their successes.

"It's a special moment. They're normally pretty composed on the outside - but I don't know about on the inside."

A Strike Four prize of $741,363 was also won by a player in Auckland. The winning ticket was sold at Countdown Lynfield.

Powerball was not struck in last night's draw and has jackpotted to $6 million.

Meanwhile, Sue and Ray from Tauranga spun and won $500,000 with the Winning Wheel.

This week's Winning Wheel ticket was sold at Pak N Save MoorHouse in Christchurch. The serial number is 217-65269003-20XX
