A 19-year-old man was to have surgery after being stabbed in the chest in a Northland home.
Police say a female at the Onerahi house was arrested following yesterday's incident. She was held in custody and was due to appear in Whangarei District Court today.
It was likely she wouldface a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police say the man was stabbed once in the chest and was taken by ambulance to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
He was to be transported to Auckland to undergo surgery.
