The 18-year-old woman killed in an early-morning crash on the West Coast on Sunday has been publicly identified.
Nadine Jane Lawton, of Totara Flat, was found after emergency services were called to the crash scene on State Highway 7 at Ngahere, abut 23km north-east of Greymouth, at 4.30am after a passing motorist reported the crash.
Ms Lawton's body was found outside the car, but it was unclear whether she had been thrown from the vehicle or had climbed out.
She was the only occupant of the car.
A police investigation into the crash is continuing.
