A 17-year-old woman is in a critical condition after being struck by a car near Rotorua early this morning.
Police are appealing to anyone who heard raised voices in the vicinity of Whangamarino School on State Highway 33, where the victim was found with significant injuries.
She was taken to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
Rotorua CIB were interviewing a number of people and would like to speak to anyone who was travelling on SH33 between 3 am and 3.30 am near the school.
