A 17-year-old woman is in serious condition after sustaining heavy injuries in a motorbike crash.
A rescue helicopter airlifted the woman to Tauranga hospital at around 1pm this afternoon as the result of a bad crash at a motocross event near Matata in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
The Mt Maunganui girl had crashed heavily off her bike - sustaining hip, shoulder and lower back injuries.
