$16m for record lotto jackpot

A Lotto jackpot win tonight could rewrite history if a single ticket wins the estimated $15 million Powerball plus the $1 million first-division prize - New Zealand's biggest-ever haul.

But John Stansfield, chief executive Problem Gambling Foundation, says he is concerned Lotto is on the rise as a cause of problem gambling. He says research shows the pokies are by far the worst problem but Lotto is climbing up the list.
