A lucky player from Cambridge won tonight's Lotto Powerball draw of $16.3 million, NZ Lotteries said.
The winning ticket was bought at Countdown in Cambridge, and is worth a total of $16,352,565 with $16,136,286 from Powerball first division and $216,279 from Lotto first division.
"This is the third top Powerball prize won this year - in March, a Powerball player from Christchurch won more than $4 million, and in February, two Powerball players from Masterton and Lower Hutt shared the top prize and took home more than $5 million each," chief executive Todd McLeay said.
Also tonight, five other Lotto players also won $216,279 with Lotto First Division. The winning tickets were sold at Sandringham Food Market in Auckland, Foodtown Howick in Manukau, Clevedon Superette in Manukau, Mt Maunganui New World in Mt Maunganui and Raumati South Four Square in Paraparaumu.
A Strike Four prize of $212,727, was also won tonight from a ticket bought at Wainoni Pak'N'Save in Christchurch.
Tonight's other big winner was Ashburton grandmother Ethel Hume who spun and won $125,000 on Lotto's Winning Wheel.
