A 16-year-old has been seriously injured in an collision between a bus and a car on State Highway 94 at Mossburn in Southland.
The accident occurred around 8.30am, when police say the car went through a give way sign and hit the bus, pushing it up onto its right hand wheels and off the road.
Both alcohol and speed are believed to have been factors.
A passenger of the car has been transported to Southland Hospital with head injuries and broken bones.
Two others aged 21 and 17 have moderate injuries.
