KEY POINTS:
Two university lecturers will be left with egg on their faces this week -- all in the interest of raising funds for diabetes.
Canterbury University lecturers Dr John Watson and Dr Vernon Andrews have offered themselves as human targets -- allowing 1500 eggs to be purchased for $1 each to be thrown at them.
All funds raised are being given to Diabetes Youth's initiative to help fund insulin pumps for children with Type 1 diabetes.
The egg throwing will take place tomorrow evening at the university.
Diabetes Youth Christchurch president Christine Murray said the insulin pump was currently not government funded for children in Christchurch.
The pump, which significantly reduces the likelihood of diabetes-related complications, costs between $5000 and $8000 with monthly supply costs up to $300.
