15-year-old on murder charge remanded

A 15-year-old has been charged with murder after another teen was allegedly stabbed to death outside a badminton hall last night.

The male victim, also 15, was found outside the Badminton Hall in Dey St, Hamilton East, just after 6pm.

A police spokeswoman said the name of the dead youth would not be released until family had been notified.

The accused youth was charged in the Hamilton Youth Court today and was remanded in police custody overnight.

He will reappear in the Hamilton Youth Court tomorrow.
