A 14-year-old has been caught drink-driving in Masterton.
The boy was stopped as part of a police sting overnight and blew 135 micrograms of alcohol a litre of breath.
Drivers under 20 aren't allowed to have any alcohol in their system.
The boy has been referred to police's youth aid section and the car he was driving has been impounded.
Of the 1028 motorists stopped at checkpoints in Masterton, three will face drink-driving charges.
