A 14-year-old boy has been caught drink-driving after taking over the wheel from his older brother.
The boy was one of 20 people charged with drink-driving after a weekend blitz by police in Kaitaia.
In one incident, a 29-year-old man who had been out drinking allegedly decided to get his 14-year-old brother to drive his vehicle for him. However, the younger boy was also allegedly under the influence.
Senior Sergeant Gordon Gunn said the youth had been referred to Police Youth Aid while his 29-year-old brother was charged with aiding and abetting.
