14-year-old boy charged with assault

A Lower Hutt boy has been arrested in connection with the attempted robbery of a Naenae takeaway shop on Friday night.

The 14-year-old has been charged with assault with intent to commit a robbery.

Shop owner Shiu Young Joe, 50, needed hospital treatment after she fought off four assailants who were carrying knives.
